210 gr. whole wheat flour.
16 gr. of baking powder.
20 gr. of Stevia.
1 ½ orange.
1 pinch of vanilla essence (optional).
How to make the classic orange cake step by step?
Elaboration. First of all, it must be known that, regarding the orange and a half, this last half will be used in pieces while, from the whole orange, only its squeezed juice will be used.
That said, you have to take a bowl or container large enough to fit all the ingredients and put the egg yolks, oil, Stevia, orange juice and, if you want to use, the vanilla. Beat until everything is well distributed.
Next, add the flour and the baking powder and continue mixing until you get a very even mixture.
In another container you have to mount the egg whites and, once they are ready, add them to the main preparation using a pastry spatula and making soft and enveloping movements.
The next step is to add the pieces of the half orange. Regarding the size of them, it must be said that they are to personal taste, although it is recommended that they are not too large.
At this point, it is time to put the mixture in a mold, which has to be buttered and floured, and to take it to a preheated oven at a temperature of 180 ° C.
How long do you have to cook for? Between 30 and 35 minutes, approximately, or until you insert a toothpick into the cake and check that it comes out dry.
Clever! The classic orange cake is finished and ready to enjoy. You just need to let it cool a bit and then unmold it. Do you already know what you would like to accompany it with?
